Wait.....did you just call me...."Mom"!!!
One of the things I love about 6:30am is how excited my kids are to see me. Tristen 2yrs and Connor 1yr scream "Mommy" as I walk in to get them up. Like they just discovered the coolest thing on the planet...and that thing was mommy! I would say that is the best way to start the day, well until recently... My son Tristen is now calling me the dreaded 3 letter word...Mom...not mommy or mama...just Mom!!!
It broke my little mommy heart, he might as well called me Mother....or even Sarah....or Hey you and I totally would have felt the same way! Since when did he get too grown up for Mommy?!?!?!?! I didn't even get to really appreciate the year of being "Mommy"....Ugh!
I tried correcting him and it just made him more upset, so I decided to pick my battles and settle; broken hearted; and become...Mom. This just reminds me how quick they grow and its a constant reminder every time he yells mom to cherish it because I know one day my baby will be a teenage and probably calling me by my first name....or even worse....not calling me at all!

Mother is not a bad word. That was the much beloved name of mine. It is the love connected with a word...not the word itself that matters. I guess "Hey you" is not quite the same. Ha! Your kids are adorable! Loved the ones with the colored leaves. That certainly stamps the season of the year onto the photos.
